COME FLY WITH US!
Very attractive words punctuated with, most of the times, with even more attractive incentives. Today, we have reason to believe that it is not safe to fly in our country, thanks to a lax regulator. We have ended up with fake schools with political patronage churning out fake pilots. Shall I add – flying fake passengers in fake aircraft belonging to fake airlines! Ha, we have not come to that stage yet. But, what is noteworthy is that so many people are so daring as to continue flying despite knowing that the pilot of their aircraft could be one of those fakes. Is it because they are in a do or die situation or is it because they have plenty of insurance cover to take care of the needs of their dependents. What about the family that travels together – well, no dependents will be left that need to be taken care of! Is going on a holiday to God’s Own Country a do or die situation – me thinks so because God’s Own Country is Heaven and one has to die to reach it. I suppose India will be India and people here have become so indifferent - having been exposed to scams of all sorts – as to not bother about their own safety, especially, when alternate means are available. The ‘chalta hai’ attitude has become all pervasive and this extends to our every action. So all one can say is “Go fly with them”.
