Environment Conservation and Protection

We find a large number of film stars and sports stars mouthing platitudes on environment protection and conservation as well as rich corporates talking about CSR - Corporate Social Responsibility. Is it right or in the right spirit? I do not think so. Here goes:
Water: First they should stop using bath tubs and showers and dish washers or any other equipment that uses up a lot of water disproportionate to the job.
Electricity: Stop installing Elevators and Escalators, use only the steps of an old fashioned stair case.
Fuel: Stop using fuel guzzlers like UVs, Hummvee, etc. Switch to a small car made locally.
Transportation: Use car pools or better still, public transportation.
Buildings: Stop constructing huge palaces or towers for one family to stay in. Get back into a small enough house or apartment suitable for the size of the family.
Eating Out: Stop patronising outlets/restaurants/hotels that are water/power/fuel guzzlers.
Purchases: Stop wasting resources on useless status symbols.
Also, do not tell me that it is their hard earned money, if that is so, then stop espousing the cause of environment protection/conversation and do not make eco-living a fashion accessory.
Take a cue from the politicians - they do not bother with the ecology or environment. They just live off the land and of course, the people like some bloodsucking vampires.
